Absolute Equilibrium EntropyBy

چکیده

The entropy associated with absolute equilibriumensemble theories of ideal, homogeneous, uid and magneto-uid turbulence is discussed and the three-dimensional uid case is examined in detail. A-function is de-ned, whose minimum value with respect to global parameters is the entropy. A comparison is made between the use of global functions and phase functions H (associated with the development of various H-theorems of ideal turbulence). It is shown that the two approaches are complimentary though conceptually diierent: H-theorems show that an isolated system tends to equilibrium while-functions allow the demonstration that entropy never decreases when two previously isolated systems are combined. This provides a more complete picture of entropy in the statistical mechanics of ideal uids.

Thin Layer Drying and Equilibrium Moisture Content Equations for Canola (Brassica napus L.)

A fully instrumented air conditioning laboratory unit capable of controlling drying air temperature and humidity integrated with an instantaneous weighing thin layer drying system was used to investigate the thin layer drying behavior and desorption equilibrium moisture content of canola (Brassica napus L.). To this aim, freshly harvested canola samples with moisture content of about 12±0.5% (d...

Relative Profit Maximization and Bertrand Equilibrium with Convex Cost Functions

This study derives pure strategy Bertrand equilibria in a duopoly in which two firms produce a homogeneous good with convex cost functions and seek to maximize the weighted sum of their absolute and relative profits. The study shows that there exists a range of equilibrium prices in duopolistic equilibria. This range of equilibrium prices is narrower and lower than the range of equilibrium pric...

High Pressure Phase Equilibrium of (Solvent + Salt + CO2) Systems by the Extended Peng-Robinson Equation of State

An extended Peng-Robinson equation of state (EPR-EOS) is used to model the vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) in systems containing (water + NaCl + CO2), (water + methanol + NaCl + CO2), (water + Na2SO4 + CO2) and (water + NH4Cl + CO2). The binary and ternary interaction parameters between salt and solvent are adjusted...

Absolute Stability Analysis for a Class of Discrete-Time Neural Networks

Abstract − The asymptotic behavior of a class discrete-time Hopfield neural network is studied in this paper. Some properties for this class discrete-time neural network, such as the boundedness of motion trajectory, the uniqueness and the absolute stability of equilibrium point etc, are obtained. In this paper, the sufficient conditions related to the existence of unique equilibrium point and ...

Generation and Characterization of Absolute Equilibrium of Compressible Flows

A short review is given of recent papers on the relaxation to (incompressible) absolute equilibrium. A new algorithm to construct absolute equilibrium of spectrally truncated compressible flows is described. The algorithm uses stochastic processes based on the Clebsch representation of the velocity field to generate density and velocity fields that follow by construction the absolute equilibriu...
